Genshin Impact Scarab Farming Routes

Scarab is a Local Specialty found only in the desert region of Sumeru. They are very similar to Inazuma’s Onikabuto. Unlike them, however, Scarabs can move around. Although they move slowly, they may be hidden in the sand or in underground ruins.

Here we’ll explain where to find or buy them, and show you the best scarabs farming routes.

Getting ready to farm scarabs

To make farming easier, make a good team, which will increase your movement speed. You can also use stamina food.

Best characters to farm scarabs

It is better to farm with characters that have passive movement speed or stamina reduction boosts. You may also use Anemo Resonance. The best characters for scarab farming are listed below:

  • Tighnari: His passive talent Encyclopedic Knowledge displays the location of nearby resources unique to Sumeru on the mini-map.
  • Venti, Collei, Amber: Their Passive Talents decrease gliding Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.
  • Kaedehara Kazuha, Razor, Kaeya, Shikanoin Heizou: Their Passive Talents decrease sprinting Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.
  • Sangonomiya Kokomi, Beidou: Their Passive Talents decrease swimming Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.
  • Mona, Kamisato Ayaka: They move swiftly upon water with their Alternative Sprint.
  • Xiao: His Passive Talent decreases climbing Stamina consumption for your own party members by 20%. Not stackable with Passive Talents that provide the exact same effects.
  • Sayu: When held, Yoohoo Art: Fuuin Dash Sayu enters the Fuufuu Windwheel state, which allows you to move much faster over long distances.
  • Rosaria: Her Passive Talent increases the Movement SPD of your own party members at night (18:00 – 6:00) by 10%.
  • Anemo Resonance: Decreases Stamina Consumption by 15%. Increases Movement SPD by 10%. Shortens Skill CD by 5%.

It would be better to increase movement speed. You will also have to sprint and glide a lot.

Recommended food

Food can reduce stamina cost as well as restore stamina. It is recommended to make the former, as they give a huge buff. A list of recommended food is below:

Barbatos Ratatouille: Onion x4, Carrot x4, Potato x4. Decreases all party members’ sprinting Stamina consumption by 15-20% for 900s.

Cream Stew: Snapdragon x1, Raw meat x2, Cream x2. Decreases all party members’ sprinting Stamina consumption by 15-20% for 900s.

Lotus Seed and Bird Egg Soup: Sugar x1, Lotus Head x1, Egg x1. Decreases all party members’ sprinting Stamina consumption by 15-20% for 900s.

Northern Smoked Chicken: Cabbage x1, Smoked Fowl x1, Onion x1. Restores 40-60 Stamina.

Noodles with Mountain Delicacies: Flour x2, Mushroom x3, Raw meat x2. Restores 40-60 Stamina.

It is highly recommended to increase your maximum stamina so you can sprint, fly, and climb longer.

Scarab Respawn Time

Scarabs respawn every 48 hours. It is not timed with daily reset. If you have collected all the scarabs in your world, you can ask other players for help. Be sure to say that you want farm their scarabs beforehand!

Where to find scarab

Scarabs can be found only in Sumeru. They are located in the desert part of the region. They are found mostly in underground ruins. It is difficult to notice them since their color blends with the surroundings, so it’s better to use the routes for farming scarabs.

Where to buy Scarab

You can’t buy Scarabs now. There are no NPCs who sell them.

Usage

Scarabs are Ascension Material for Cyno. You will need a total of 168 scarabs for one character. So it is recommended to always have an extra amount of scarabs for upcoming characters.
